Meet Marcus our New Therapist Specialising in Pitchside Support

Growing up competing in a wide spread of sports like rugby, football, athletics and swimming, I knew I wanted to carry that love for sports on for as long as possible. I realised if I was not going to be a professional sportsman. I would work within sports, So with that being said I completed 3 years of Sports Therapy at Bournemouth University where I picked up Lacrosse as a brand-new sport where I competed at the premier south league. I am now fortunate enough to work as a Sports Therapist with the England U20 Lacrosse team where I can support possible future 2028 Olympians.

I completed my MSc Sport and Exercise Rehabilitation at AECC University College in Bournemouth. During this year it allowed me to expand on my clinic skills, work with the Armed Forces Hockey, Swanage and Wareham RFU and Bovington Royal Artillery Corps rugby team. My masters allowed me to explore new areas of therapy such as Cardiac Rehabilitation and supporting para and disabled athletes. Blade running prosthetics and para-athletes have been a big influence in me for getting into sport therapy after watching the 2012 Paralympics and I hope I can explore this within clinic.

During university I picked up many hours doing pitch side sport, but I am keen to expand into clinical practice where I can use my niche degree modules: cardiac rehabilitation and supporting para and disabled athletes to help the community who might feel like they are struggling with the right support.

Future goals of mine are to dive into coaching and performance/running analysis, and I know here at Banbury Private Physiotherapy Practice those goals can become a reality.

Be sure to book in with myself so we can get you back to competitive level again.
