Pitch-side Sports injury and first aid incorporates first level basic trauma care, concussion assessment  and sports injury management by professionally registered Sports therapists and Physiotherapists. Marcus Creagh has achieved a degree in Sports therapy and Sports rehabilitation and works under his regulatory professional body to maintain the highest standards of pitch-side practice. He joined the Banbury Private Physiotherapy Practice in 2024.

Marcus Creagh has the accolade of supporting the Under 20’s England Lacrosse team, Armed Forces Hockey and Chipping Norton Rugby Club.

Pitch-side support is not only providing first aid and injury management. The role spans from:

  • pre match training: motivational talks, soft tissue massage and stretching, taping , injury review.
  • performance training: Customised player position training programs to improve players performance.
  • training support: watching training games and working with the coach to enhance performance with given players position. Assist with choosing players for matches.
  • Pitch-side first aid and post-game injury management.

By acting as a part of the coaching team, Marcus provides training information to improve performance, gym training management and exercise programs. Marcus has the ability to improve performance on and off the pitch by providing exercise and gym prescription programs, facilitative taping and targeted massage as well as supporting players with the psychological focus within their role

As a part of the Banbury Private Physiotherapy team he continues any injury within the clinic rooms using hands on injury management, modular shockwave and can advise the coach on the next game management for this player.
